| Some quick backround on what started this whole scenario. My Cars thermostat was all over the place, after checking and looking i was
dumbfounded. I added some radiator fluid. About a week later
I Finally found a crack in my radiator after getting some smoke under the hood. The radaiator had a hairline crack in the top area to the right of the fill port. I Replaced: 1. Radiator (had to mod for shroud holes in the side)
2. Thermostat
3. All belts with exception of timing (i had it all open so i said why not)
I'm not familiar with the timing system of this car so i inspected the belt
and looked for problems, it looked clean. After the above replacements. i started the car up i figured i would see where
things were. Checked for leaks etc. I found my car had a new ticking sound, im not familiar
with engine ticks and sounds etc. It sounds like pre-ignition / diesel. I called a few friends , made a post up on zdriver.com and have been endlessly
searching for help. And that is where we are today. In my search i've replaced the following: 4. Fuel Filter (double checked flow direction)
5. Checked Spark plug wires with noid light.(all flashed in a similar fashion)
6. Replaced Spark Plugs NGK Platnium and DID NOT gap (.35 to .39 - tool didnt have anything between)
(old ones were black and smelled horrible. The spark point was the size of a pin head if not smaller. The rest of the spark plugs were the same if not worse)
After endless searching for software that was FREE and worked with this consult adapter, i found this to work great. Its not as complete but gives more active tests then others.

Each software has advantages ive found, im using a combination of ECUTalk / Conzult / Dr300zx.
I just tested my VTC solenoids (using dr300zx active test) and when i do, boy do i hear MASSIVE tick, is that normal?

I recently purchased a timing light and i've been reading about adjustment of the
CAS. I'm not sure if im headed in the right direction. Any help would be appreciated.
